Lady Kessa: The air bit at her cheeks, but she sat straight on top of the crates until she reached the side of The Keep, looming like a mountain now that she was so close to it. Fighting her dress, both to keep from stepping on it and to keep the wind from underneath it. She ascended the ladder at last and cradled her hands over her burgeoning belly, getting out of the way for the men unloading, moving to where Franz was, a slow breath released before her hand moved to find his and give it a squeeze before letting go. "It's very exciting." They had taken the overland route to Fehu Isa when they'd come, and so she'd never been on a ship really. -d
Franz Castellan: ::the cold air swirled around the dock but the ice in the water had thinned, and cracks were starting to show, the would just about be fine to leave the dock::he still wore his winter coat though and had supervised the barges to load the larger ships with goods:he stood on The Keep with Kessa by his side::
Lady Kessa: Soon, they'd pull out and be bound to circle round to meet the wagons and then follow the New West Road to the Sardar. She had packed the robes, but wasn't wearing them just yet. Her hair still pinned up with combs under the wool cloak lined at the edges with fur.
Franz Castellan: ::he had been keeping a close eye on his men, and while not at thassa often, he had a good Captain in charge, he himself made sure his own men kept in line and worked with the Captains. They were stowing away provisions and anything else they may need for the trip::the wind was a fair one it would seem and soon the sailed would fill with it and help them on their way::
Lady Kessa: The day had been spent overseeing the departure of everyone, making sure they were in the modified portion of the ship, made into rooms without much in the way of fanciness, but sturdy and suitable. Delight and Sweetness were secured below, doing what they could to help the ship's slaves tend to making dinner. Fire and Comfort would remain at Tyr'Odal to see to the Jarls of the city guard who remained. Elise and her family were downstairs, no doubt the girl was receiving yet another 'when we get there ,stay close and don't wander' lecture. The potter was designing the dishes, or had been when she'd left her earlier to return to the hall and finish up paperwork, though she'd dozed off and nearly missed the boat herself.
Franz Castellan: ::the little barges had the ropes holding them to The Keep released and thrown back to the crews, they tacked off and circled away from the ship::The Keeps anchor was gradually pulled away from the bottom of the thassa::Shouts and cries were heard and the horn sounded for their departure from the docks of Fehu Isa::the sound would carry far on the wind to the shore and reach the village::
Lady Kessa: The horns made her cover her ears with the tips of her fingers but she smiled at the sound and the shift of the deck underfoot set her to grab hold of Franz's arm tightly. She laughed softly, loosening her grip, but not letting go just yet. It felt good to be out in the fresh air, to smell the sea where it was distant from the docks and the smell of washed-up sea life and the guts of the parsits being readied for the smokehouse. "I hope you got a chance to speak with the man Tor. He was anxious to speak to you."
Franz Castellan: Tor ?::he pondered this as he held onto the railings of the ship, he had actually had a lot on his mind lately and most likely had forgotten::which one is he ? I forget who we have arranged to meet with ::he chuckled sheepishly::
Lady Kessa: She chuckled. "The blonde man who came with Papo. He and his girl are in a guest room at the Hall." She looked over at Franz. "I do write out the daily events and put them where they can be seen. I wonder sometimes if you need your own copy stuck to your door." Smiling softly she folded her arms and held her cloak shut as the wind was picking up a bit now that they were edging toward the open Thassa.
Franz Castellan: Ah, that would be a good idea::he grinned::it's extra work but make it so. ::anything that made his life a little easier he was of course more than welcome to ride with. The ship began to move slowly out of the harbour, passing the high cliffs and the boom into open thassa, the waves began to get slightly heavier and the boat would rock a little::
Lady Kessa: She rolled her eyes faintly and nodded. " yes, Franz." She did not mind the work so much as the idea that he, like so many others, seemed immune to the fact the city even had a board for the posting of what was going on.
Franz Castellan: ::he grinned at the eye roll and trusted it was not the motion of the boat, he could almost read her mind::I do read the board, it's just..it would be easier to memorise it first thing when I woke while it was fresh in my mind::
Lady Kessa: Shifting slightly with the waves, she was glad she wasn't the sort to get ill aboard ship. Or so it seemed, since she was not feeling sick now. She felt.. hungry, actually, as the smell of food began to waft from below deck. "I will likely make the trip home more difficult, as I plan to buy a good deal of things we need. There is no better time for doing so, as it is closer than usual for things like tea and spices. "
Franz Castellan: ::he listened above the whip of the noise of the thassa::alright..::he grinned::and I can browse for...interesting things...:::he meant things like..beer, ales, interesting beverages , especially local ones:: I shall make sure you have enough coin to carry and spend !
Lady Kessa: "And please, go put in orders with the slavers for any good bondmaids, the girls we have are nearly worn out by day's end. And a weary bondmaid is no pleasure to anyone." She smiled at him. "I will likely have an account set up at the merchant's tent so that all the papers go to them and I do not tempt theives." She chuckled softly and leaned in, lowering her voice so even if another sailor was standing near, he'd not hear. "I am still not comfortable carrying money of my own." Eyes glinting as she looked up at him, then out to sea again.
Franz Castellan: ::he grinned then and as she looked out he would hold her arm::well, I am sure you will find nice things to purchase shall we go below ?
Lady Kessa: "Of course, Franz. The wind is nice but.. I am sure I've had more than enough." She would follow as he lead, descending into the bowels of the ship where their room was set up, nothing too fancy, but they'd be comfortable and dry, barring any accidents. It would be more roomy than the wagons, for certain.
Franz Castellan: ::climbing down the steps into the bowels of the ship, you could hear the creak of the wood against the waves, and occasionally the odd drip would seep through but he pretended not to notice it, it was natural, for the ship to arrive heavier than when it left even when full::
