Lady Kessa: The bonfire had burned down to nothing more than some cold charred logs and a blackened space on the rocks. Sitting with folded arms atop her knees, though such a task was becoming slightly harder to acomplish, the milling city guards that moved about seemed protection enough without singling out any specific person to watch over her. She wasn't going anywhere. Features unreadable at the moment, gazing out across the sea, there was something going on behind her hazels, but what it was, she wasn't telling.
Acheron Sinis: He walked quietly to the beach. Walking more so to the rocky path rather then to the sands. He had paused a distance from where he saw Kessa. He had things on his mind as well and had come there to be alone. As he looked to Kessa, he thought perhaps that was her thinking as well.
Lady Kessa: From beside her, a small stone was plucked up, sidearm toss sent it out into the water, not with any beautiful smooth lake skipping, but a thick sounding plunk into the waves as they sought to clutch at the mottled shore of sea-smoothed stones. Papo did not make much noise when he walked, even on the beach, and so she hadn't noticed he was there. It was a sort of obliviousness she would not have exhibited if she were not so close to home. Sighing in a way that spoke of decision-making and not pity or moroseness, she went to get up, and found she couldn't. Nearly toppling over from her rock, she threw out her arms and cried out faintly, then swore under her breath in a very unladylike way. "SOMEONE COME PICK UP THE SEA SLEEN!" which was what she felt like at the moment.
Acheron Sinis: He looked away from her and let his eyes wander the vast horizon of sea. His thoughts now on Tor...And his past with Anni. He looked over to her as she shouted.
Lady Kessa: She stuck her arms out, like being crucified, and sure enough the rattle of rocks annoucned the arrival of two of the patroling guards who gripped them and prised her up off the rock, not letting go until they were sure she was on her feet and had her balance. "Thank you." She smiled politely, because it wasn't their fault she'd sat so long her butt went to sleep and now she couldn't get up without crawling over the rocks like a crab. When they left, no doubt to laugh, she noted Papo at last. "Ah, hello, Papo. " Gathering her woolen layers a bit she lifted her hem enough that she could walk, slowly due to the pins and needles feeling, toward where he stood.
Acheron Sinis: "Tal, Kessa.." He gave a nod and a polite smile.
Lady Kessa: "When I woke, there was a guest room occupied. I hear this is your doing." Looking to him intently.
Acheron Sinis: "Yes." He looked to her...Then he looked away to the sea.. "He needed a place to stay...And work."
Lady Kessa: "Mmm. I trust your judgement, Papo. Don't doubt that." Chuckling quietly. "And there is much to do. There is expansion, and always Tem Reach is in need of good strong men. If he is not one who shies from danger that is. The Forest can be rather... off putting to some. Many here are Torvaldslanders and they're more comfortable on the sea side of things, I think." She folded her arms over her growing midsection and gazed, as he was, out over the water again.
Acheron Sinis: He nodded. "I mentioned that. Franz will no doubt want to talk to him and figure out where to place him to work.."
Lady Kessa: "His predilections will figure in. He figured in yours." Stepping past she thought to leave him to his quiet thoughts.
Acheron Sinis: As per his word given to Tor, he would not mention that he was formally Anni's slave...Or that he was enslaved. He still had yet to send word to the Magistrate for those papers to be drawn up...But he did, verbally set Tor free. "Be well."
Lady Kessa: She'd needed her own quiet time and he had not disturbed it. "Be well." The loose stones would give way, in time, to the more solid ground on which the outpost had been established.
