Lady Kessa: Entering, the hall was still in a merry mood, the tone light and full of laughter, the floor still held traces of dropped eggs but most had been cleaned up. Drifting to her seat at the table, she watched Papo as he was followed by the parade of bondmaids from the hall, bare feet pattering, offering to be the one to fetch him what he desired.
Acheron Sinis: He smiled to the girls as he set his cloak to the peg...He nodded to Comfort...Favoring her to fetch him.."Tea...With honey.."
ComfortNPC: Comfort had a big mouth, and used it, it seemed. He was more popular than firewood it would appear. She poked her tongue out at her disappointed fellow bondmaids who pouts were wiped away when the triumphant pair of Haraldr brothers snatched them back onto their laps. Comfort swishing to the kitchen with obvious happiness. He was going to spoil her if he wasn't careful.
Acheron Sinis: Papo grinned as he walked on over to sit to the table closest to the central fire. He was not a large in girth as the other men..He was tall and leaner..The fire was nice and warm.
Lady Kessa: "You make a fine judge, Papo, even if you do not compete." Kessa spoke as again she began to flip through the pages of the papers set in front of her. "I am glad you came here." She meant it too. Not being overly flattering, merely honest, she'd tell him when it occurred to her to do so. When she felt particularly grateful for his presence.
Acheron Sinis: He looked over to Kessa..."A Judge..?"
ComfortNPC: Comfort slid out of the kitchen with the tray of tea, bringing it to Papo and set it down on the table beside him, pouring his tea and adding the honey.
Lady Kessa: "Well, not a real judge, i mean.. a person who stands there and makes sure nobody cheats."
Acheron Sinis: "I was only watching, Kessa.." he smiled to her..Perhaps it was his presence alone that kept the honest people honest.
Lady Kessa: She nodded. "And that is enough, Papo." He was completely correct in his assumption. His being there was cause for anyone who would not be honestly coming by their winnings to be hesitant to attempt anything.
Acheron Sinis: He smiled and then gave Comfort a slap to her arse playfully...He then took up his tea. He then blew away the gathered steam and sipped carefully to the hot aromatic tea.
ComfortNPC:: She jumped at the swat but didn't go right away, taking her time to move off, her hand rubbing at her rump through the kirtle, though it was more to pull the slit in her leg to move and flash the soft curve of thigh and calf as she moved off away from him, a sultry sort of ravenous look shot over her shoulder. He'd created a monster perhaps.
Acheron Sinis: His dark eyes were on that shapely ass of her...And he smiled as he thought to the last night with her. She was so very comely and well worth the taking.
Lady Kessa: "If you've finished with his tea, perhaps I could trouble you to get some for me?" Her tone both amused and steely, as she really did want tea, and to seem aloof as she ought to be, but she understood the way it was when you were a slave girl.
Acheron Sinis: "Harta, girl...Do as you're told.." he spoke calmly to the girl.
ComfortNPC: She was moving even before the harta was said, and doubly so when it did reach her ears, skidding into the kitchen with a squeak of surprise, nearly running Tempest over as she was coming from the laundry. She came back, cowed, even to the fact she'd brushed her hair down, the usual Jarl-mussed waves soothed to placid lie against her back and shoulders as the tea was put before the Mistress with murmured apology, though it was doubtful the free woman would be really angry for a girl tending to men's pleasures even visual ones. She caught the flutter of hand that meant she was dismissed and with a soft exhale of relaxation, she backed away and cut a quick look toward Papo.
Acheron Sinis: He looked to the girl with a smile as she served Kessa.
Lady Kessa: "So far there is no news mentioning the Lady Elise's situation. I had hoped it would be so. " She had suspected, perhaps, that the slain guards would be cared about enough to have their killers sought, but no, it seemed not.
Acheron Sinis: "It is up to Franz when she will be judged."
Lady Kessa: "I was speaking of her return. There is no mention of her being stolen by you or your men, not that they'd know who it was but still... three men dead and I'd think the man who hired them would seek justice. But... he perhaps is more air in his speech than actual words, if you know what I mean." All talk and no action, was her point.
Franz Castellan: ::he had finally wandered in from the outside, still carrying the bow that Loki himself had cursed especially for the archery contest::he grinned and walked over to the roaring fire and chucked the bow on it::he stood there for an ihn waiting for the flames to lick around the edge of the fashioned wood and then..they caught alight::
Lady Kessa: She'd put hers away under her cloak, though she'd have to have Franz to get it unstrung later so not to warp the wood."Tal, Franz." He didn't look angry, just bemused as his bow was consumed. She smiled to herself and sat straight on her padded stool. "Would you like something to warm you up other than the watching of the bow being burned?"
Franz Castellan: Tal Kessa, Papo::he waved to them both from afar, not far really but he was still warming himself;:he slapped the behind of one of the girls as she walked in front of him:: What do we have on the go ? I tire of stew
Lady Kessa: "We've skewers of meat and mushroom and peppers, and some spiced stuffed verr, though I cannot eat it, it is too spicy for my tastes." She warned him of the heat as best she could, though he was more manly so he'd no doubt find it completely acceptable.
Acheron Sinis: "Tal, brother.."
Franz Castellan: ::he had eaten some really odd things in Port Kar an age ago long before she had climbed on his back and thus was used to weird and wonderful spices::he smiled brightly::I don't mind one bit Kessa..Ah Papo how do you find the contests to your liking ?
Acheron Sinis: He leaned back into his chair looking over to Franz as he sipped to his tea..."I was impressed..." he smiled...
BndmaidFireNPC: Fire, still stinging from the swat, darted into the kitchen to fetch the food for her Jarl, her skin still a soft tan though it would fade in a few days time.
Acheron Sinis: He decided to wait a while before rubbing in the fact that the women far excelled the men in skill. Which was what impressed him.
Lady Kessa: "I lost." She said softly. "But I blame the baby. He keeps me off balance." Lower lip jutted out all pitiful-like, then let a sigh out that was so melodramatic it ought to have been twirling a thin black moustache.
Acheron Sinis: He toyed with the idea of poking fun at Franz, by suggesting the women post guard and hunt kur. "She came in second..At 24 points." He smirked a little...he couldn't resist.."The winner had 25." He looked to Franz in that calm and coolly collected devilish smile..."She even got a bullseye.."
Lady Kessa: Fire hurried out with the wooden platter in her upturned hands, the bed of rice and vegetables bearing heavy rolls of verr stuffed with spices and grain, and baked with a sauce which had more of the spices inside. Steaming, it was held up to him as Jarl Papo seemed to get great pleasure out of telling him the way the archery contest had gone.
Franz Castellan: ::he nodded wisely as Papo spoke::Did you notice the wind blow up at just the moment I fired my arrows ? completely the wrong direction , they blew off course
Acheron Sinis: Now for the salt..."I was thinking while I watched the women...That with their skill...They could quite probably hunt for some kur wall trophies for your hall.."
Lady Kessa: "Of course they did, and I only got the bullseye because you got me such a fine bow, and I have been practicing. Otherwise I would have been horrid.
Acheron Sinis: He smiled and then took a sip.
Franz Castellan: ::he took the platter from her hand and helped himself with the other and slowly munched on rolls, dabbing it against the rice he would scoop it up in the bread and eat also:
Lady Kessa: And .. " She cut a look at Papo that could have left a bruise. "you..." She looked back at Franz. "Are Administrator. You've more important things to do than play at target shooting." She was defensive of her companion. "You did a fine job, Franz."
Acheron Sinis: He had known Franz a good long time...And felt if any man could poke a little teasing fun...It would be him to do it.
Franz Castellan: ::he kept his own expression deadpan as Papo spoke and chuckled softly. He had to laugh::
Acheron Sinis: "Yes...This is true...An Administrator has to keep up with all the bondsmaids...That is very important.." he smirked looking away.
Lady Kessa: She crossed her arms under her bust looking peevish. "Oh, still your tongue or put a bondmaid on it." She had to bite back a smile herself, as Franz was laughing and she couldn't be angry when he was not.
Franz Castellan: ::he scooped up the vegetables then and allowed them to hit his stomach, the spices merely brushed past his taste buds:: my tongue on a bondmaid hmm..who is worthy to be excited beyond belief ::he grabbed a horn of mead from one of the passing girls and handed her his platter in return:::-
Acheron Sinis: He lifted a brow looking to Kessa.
Lady Kessa: "Not you, Franz." She muttered and bit her tongue, literally, chewing on the side of it as it wasn't fair that Franz had been judged by the same rules as the other men. Had they just come back from fighting with outlaws? No.
Acheron Sinis: Ohhh He knew who she was talking to...He merely smiled and looked away.
Franz Castellan: ::he moved over to his seat then and would..well...sit comfortably::the chair creaked under his firm...ass?::
Acheron Sinis: Yep...Franz's chair moaned like a whorey slut.
Lady Kessa: She gave a sidelong look at Franz, judging by the creak that he was settled in comfortably. Her hand moved hesitantly to set for a moment on his arm, then was withdrawn to fold in her diminishing lap.
Franz Castellan: So...do you know, the Cosians , I bet they will not get here in time for any of the events
Acheron Sinis: "Anytime you are ready for training, my friend...You just let me know." He already relayed his feelings about the Cosians to Kessa..
Franz Castellan: ::Training...Ah yes...he was to train his men. :: I would suggest after the festivities.
Acheron Sinis:Acheron Sinis: He nodded.
Lady Kessa: "I would wager they haven't even left port." She leaned her head forward and caught her chin on her palm, elbow on the table's edge. She was very irritated about their snub. She was a woman so she worried that they lied about coming because the village was not as fine as Cos. But it was not as old either. Nor did they have year-long temperate weather to allow such fine places as she had heard about.
Acheron Sinis: Kessa said what was on his mind. Papo always had the notion that the Cosians thought too highly of themselves.
Franz Castellan: ::he smiled at them both, their irritation over the Cosians visible::well, I am in a position to tear up the treaty which I shall do so soon, it is not worth it, we are well capable of fending for ourselves these days. They are, I would suggest, up their own arses
Lady Kessa: "It will pass in time, Franz. Like companionship. Let them be forgotten as they forget us. It would, perhaps, be better to choose a city nearer to ourselves. Perhaps Tyrsgaard even. It is further North, much colder and so likely they do better trade in whales and sea sleen."
Acheron Sinis: "I wouldn't do that, my friend...Get what you can from them...And sell what you may at high cost.." He looked to them both.
Lady Kessa: She turned her eyes to Papo. "And he is right for his part. Until that time ends, do all in your power to take as much as you can from them."
Acheron Sinis: "Just remember to not make an appearance to their festivities."
Lady Kessa: "We would swelter and perish. All those robes. To do what? Hide how ugly they are underneath. Like boiled fish, all blanched and milky." She was pretty cross, really. If they did not wish to come, they only had to decline. She'd busted her butt to try and make the village nice for the visitors. Not that she did not care for those here already, she just didn't need to impress them. They liked it here already.
Acheron Sinis: He looked to Franz..."Your treaty is for goods traded...Bought and sold yes? No alliance for wars..?"
Franz Castellan: ::he would listen to them both and nod, he drank from his mead::No, no alliance for wars..goods sold and bought yes
Acheron Sinis: "Then keep them...Keep them for a long time." He smiled.
Franz Castellan: Well..everybody in Fehu seems to be enjoying the festival::he smiled to them both::so I shall not worry much more about the Cosians.
Lady Kessa: "We are bound to act as host if there is war, Franz." She said quietly.
Acheron Sinis: He looked to Kessa..."You can host any you please...Even the enemies of Cos."
Franz Castellan: Enough talk of the Cosians !::he laughed::we should drink, fart, and fornicate, not necessarily worry about war ! it is a time for fun::he tried to cheer up the conversation a bit. Not necessarily fart..but you get the gist
Acheron Sinis: He laughed softly..
Lady Kessa: She looked over to Papo, mouth opening to clarify that if war was declared...they will be haven for the women and children of Cos until it was safe to go back, but Franz's sensible words made her close her mouth again and she nodded "I leave drinking to you, my own. And... Papo, you may choose one for yourself. But only one of those remaining because I do not think they make a good pair."
Acheron Sinis: "They will be no heavy drinking for me, my friends.."
Franz Castellan: More for me and Ivan
Acheron Sinis: He had been drinking mostly tea. He had that guard duty over Elise to see to.
Lady Kessa: "No, that is why I gave it to Franz." She chuckled. "Leaving you with the other two options as I said."
Acheron Sinis: And he was after all...An Elite Guard Commander for Franz's men.
Lady Kessa: Several of the men who had come to enjoy the fire and the company rose and headed toward the door, intending to follow the stairs down to the archery pitch again where, by now, the grass-woven archery targets had been replaced with chunks of wood for the Axe throw. She had done her best to schedule the events in stagger steps so that none lasted too long and there was time for respite in between.
Franz Castellan: So..no doubt the drinking will go on well into the night::he would look to Ivan drinking the longest horn of mead you could ever see and collapse backwards to a chorus of cheers::
Acheron Sinis: He quieted to his own thoughts as he sipped to his tea.
Lady Kessa: "I am going to watch the axe throw. Handing out the prizes is one of the things I have been looking forward to." She looked between the men and smiled. "I think I can go by myself. " And by this she meant with the usual following phalanx of two guards even in the middle of the village. "So you may talk about... manly things." She was sure that once she was gone they would discuss the fact Franz came home bloody.
Acheron Sinis: He smiled to the girls as he set his cloak to the peg...He nodded to Comfort...Favoring her to fetch him.."Tea...With honey.."
