Franz Castellan: ::he was leading a group of men through the forest on kailla, they were moving slowly , they carried shields, their swords were on the hip and while they guided kailla with one hand , the other would hold crossbows, twenty riders in all would follow a slow trail through the dense forest. they were hunting wild sleen, and of course keeping an eye out for any kur that had the audacity to venture this far:
LeonidusofGor: - Stalking would be a word he would associate with assassins, but that is what the burly Rarius is doing, stalking a fat and juicy tabuk, his bow not that of the peasants but at least 2 horts longer than a short bow , one he had custom made for him by a hunter many passings ago. He smiles, taking aim at the single horned beast when suddenly its ears perk up, it freezes then it bolts, sensing something Leonidus does not. cursing under his breath he lowers the bow and leans back against a temwood, a bit irritated that his dinner is now probably over a pasang away-
Franz Castellan: ::the animal shot past the group, the kailla would rise up and startled cause a ripple to run through the group, they would struggle to bring the front kailla under control, one of the riders would spot the rustle of the tem wood. shouts would be heard through the forest and he would draw his sword and ride through the growth, brushing it to one side with the massive beast::the rest of the men would jump off the kailla and fan out , spreading, and moving as fast as they could through the wood. His land stretched perhaps many pasangs and he would not tolerate poachers hunting his animals::
LeonidusofGor: - Now he detects what spooked the tabuk, the snorts of kaiila from past the underbrush followed by the cries of men. frowning, expecting forest brigands, the former commander of Corcyrus legions prepares to sell his life dearly, gladius drawn as he flattens himself against the tree trunk, thankful his cloak of dark green blends him into the foliage
Franz Castellan: :the rain drizzled and although they were damp and sodden they tried to move as silently as possible, the forest seemed to fall silent then as if it knew something was being hunted. Ivan had sent a group of riders behind where they thought someone was hiding and shouts would erupt as they caught glimpses of him::men rushed forward bows raised::
LeonidusofGor: -his bow pretty much useles,, Lenidus exhales slowly out his nose to avoid any hint of his breath, for all the good it did when the alarm was raised. Pushing off the trunk he bellows the war cry of Corcyrus and lunges into the group before then can react, slashing bows in twain as he moves past the group and into the dense underbrush beyond-
Franz Castellan: "Follow him!!::cries were heard again and the kailla riders bore down on the hunted male::Franz would not want him killed, he heard the war cry and was impressed::the men chased after him, Franz himself would draw out his knife and hold it to the man's throat::he would look him in the eye then::I would suggest..you halt::from nowhere men with bows would be seen pointing arrows in their direction, his men would hold him still::
LeonidusofGor: - cursing as he runs smack into the 2nd group he growls and drops his gladius. -Dispatch me swiftly, sleen, that is all i ask. and if you seek to rob me all I have is my weapons and a few coin in my purse.. cooly staring back into the eyes of the large reaver- Kings strike you down..you have me.
Franz Castellan: ::he would hold his gaze steady::you are on my land , I am Franz Castellan and this is my territory legaly owned - you are on Tem Reach Forest Reserve. Explain yourself
LeonidusofGor: - frowning- Well how was I to know anyone claimed this forest? there is no wards that I have seen. I thought only beasts and panther girls resided here... I do not doubt your claim but you would not mind showing me proof , yes?
Franz Castellan: ::he smirked::I have proof. The map is back at Fehu Isa
LeonidusofGor: :nodding: so, I suppose you will bind me and take me to see it? :hoping he says yes instead of them just killing him then and there:
Franz Castellan: ::he motioned for his men on the other side to head off to the kailla::
LeonidusofGor: I was doing nothing but hunting my dinner. I am no outlaw or poacher...
Franz Castellan: So..I see..and heard, warrior ::he would step back, his boots then snapping twig and branch::
LeonidusofGor: -Leonidus eyes Franz then stoops to retrieve his gladius, resheathing it- I am Leonidus, of the Rarii. I offer apology for hunting onm your lands..i did not know..
Franz Castellan: ::he turned to him then and walked off::follow me, I accept your apology::he tilted his head to him::you need a place to stay?
LeonidusofGor: I....well..: he frowns a bit confused now- a place to stay, sir?
Franz Castellan: ::he was not a cruel man and apology offered and accepted, he was not heartless::
LeonidusofGor: I have a small encampment 9 or so pasangs south of here
Franz Castellan: ::they would walk through to the kailla where the rest of the men had assembled::he would leap up onto his own he offered an arm down::your choice, ride with us or I shall leave you in peace ..in the cold and rain
LeonidusofGor: - chuckling at the mans brisk ness- Well, when you put it in those terms...how could i refuse such a generous offer? - gripping his arm he hoists himself up in saddle behind the Jarl-
Franz Castellan: :::they would ride through the drizzle, a light mist lifting from the forest floor to damp the men through to the core::it would be maybe 50 pasangs to the hall, but they would take their time, as you could not be too careful way out here. Eventually they would reach the hall, and would wind their way up the trail, past small building, recent construction work could be seen, and a new larger hall would loom in the distance. Excited shouts and cries would be heard as the group arrived, women and children would emerge from their homes, and bondmaids would stop to watch the procession. The men would dismount from the kailla and lead them away to water troughs:he himself would dismount and wait for the man with him to jump down::
LeonidusofGor: -Leonidus, having never been to Torvaldsland before, slides to the ground, dark eyes assessing everything he can, commenting to Franz as he takes in the compound and the large structure up ahead- you have a large hall..I am impressed
Franz Castellan: We..are just on the outskirts of Torvaldsland but ..since I am born of there, and the men are from there, the laws are the same :;he would hint at some misfortune occuring to him in the past::
LeonidusofGor: I thank you for your hospitality then, Jarl
Franz Castellan: you may sleep in the hall..pick an alcove. If you need anything...let me know and it shall be provided
LeonidusofGor: I shall wait then, so as to not choose a place already selected by your men. What can I do to repay your hospitality? I am grateful you saw fit to not have me shot
Franz Castellan: ::he turned then and chuckled::work for me, I will find you a suitable position
LeonidusofGor: nodding; you honor me by considering me for such then, Jarl
